Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September. 21 in 1983) is a well-known American actress. Most notably, she appeared as Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV series and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. After her parents' divorce, she left Worthington in Ohio and moved in Los Angeles. While struggling financially she landed her first part as Rachel's Room's title character the online video series Rachel's Room in 2001. Her performance in the role of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the TV movie Murder In Greenwich in 2002 earned her nominations for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford, the character in Lost from 2004 to 2005 was selected for a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was keen to pursue film following her role as Tom Welling's character on The Fog, in 2005. The actress was in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and also starred alongside Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. The role was reprised in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice on Malice in Wonderland which is an updated adaptation of the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series for the last two episodes playing Shannon. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth episode of Californication. The character she plays is Faith she is the muse and fan of the stars. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. Gyllenhaal is a part of the family, and is the older cousin of Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens she appeared in small roles in films made by her father. She also co-starred with her older brother in Donnie Darko which is a cult classic. Her next roles were in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind which was released in 2002 as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). The leading roles of Gyllenhaal in Secretary, the romantic comedy-drama erotico and Sherrybaby (a film) received her nominations for Golden Globe Award. The actress gained more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) as well as a number of successful commercials she appeared in the year 2006. After her successful performance as an unmarried mother of Crazy Heart (2009), she received the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Gyllenhaal composed and directed her first feature film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The psychological drama won Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The Lost Daughter was also nominated for The Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
